A number of changes to the Fair Work Act 2009 will come into effect on 1 January 2013 following the Fair Work Amendment Act 2012 receiving Royal Assent on 4 December 2012.

New licensing and compliance requirements for the NSW security industry will commence on 1 November 2012. SLED will be hosting “Information Sessions” during October 2012 to communicate these new requirements.

At the SPAAL Members Meeting held on the 13 December 2011, the Minister for Police & Emergency Services announced a number of proposed changes to the regulation of the NSW Security Industry.
